"What
a treat this wonderfully recorded CD is.
Intensely personal, Green and Root pay respect
to Mother-daughter relationships, and what
happens when one faces a life changing event
on the title track, "Down That Road".
I got tears and goosebumps listening to
"Ronnie", one of the best songs
I have heard so far this year. The story
of a good friend who dies at the hand of
a domestic terrorist attack hits very close
to home.
This
whole CD is full of sweet vocals, cutting
lyrics and gentle music, and is one of the
best folk records I have heard in a LONG
time. Almost on par with Dar Williams and
that's high praise indeed!
Highly
recommended."

| "Green
and Root are "surprisingly original,
especially perceptive and undeniably concentrated."
Their lush and tight harmonies combined with
well crafted heart centered songs and strong
guitar playing create an immense sense of
self-expression, not unlike the best Indigo
Girls. A recent national tour and worldwide
radio play have them poised for even more
success.." |

Taking Root
Green and Root
prove that couples who play together stay
together.
Folk favorite
Green recently followed up her rewarding
first album, 'Multiheaded Heart', with a
mature offering: 'Down That Road', recorded
in collaboration with her lover, Root. Influenced
by the death of Green's mother from cancer,
and by their 2001 wedding ceremony, the
CD offers up a folksy collection of acoustic
songs. READ

The
Advocate - February 2005
Review 'Down That Road' |
| Green
and Root create smooth folk-pop leaning toward
'70s country-rock. Partners in life as well
as music, the duo's voices blend to create
gorgeous harmonies. The CD makes a perfect
soundtrack for a relaxed Sunday at home with
someone special. Lyrics like "Now every
time I think of you, I cry a little longer/
And every time I dream of you, I wake a little
stronger" (from the title track) reach
out and grab you. |

Author - The Craft and Business of Songwriting |
| "Beyond the professional craftsmanship of Green's poetic songs and the angelic blend of her and Root's harmonies is an innocent, idealistic, joyful and optimistic world-view. All this perseveres within the context of the tough life issues they confront in the songs. A beautiful and thought-provoking album." |

Multiheaded Heart CD Review |
| "No ordinary folksinger and no ordinary CD, (Multiheaded Heart) is A MASTERPIECE. Green is comfortable as a singer; her voice caresses and cradles her words, pushing them into the deep, feeling parts of your mind. That's just what a GREAT SINGER-SONGWRITER does: not only make you hear, but make you desire and feel." READ FULL ARTICLE |

| "A TALENT TO WATCH: ambitious, inclusive, and such a solid musician, one never doubts she'll hit any note she's aiming for." |
 |
Mare Wakefield, Eugene Weekly, OR |
| "Green's voice is clear and honest, fearlessly going for the high notes and sailing through wordy phrases and lyrics that are refreshingly void of cliches." |
 |
Elka Eastly, Reclaiming Quarterly |
| "…MULTI-DIMENSIONAL… Green doesn't attempt to wrap (her music) in a pretty pop bow… If you've ever felt torn, burned, ecstatic or demanding- and you like the sound of a GODDESS ON FIRE- you'll let (Multiheaded Heart) squeeze you until you're breathless… and love it." |

| ".. one of my favorite musical companions. It takes the craft of songwriting and does my favorite things; it brings it home to community and family, to earth consciousness, and shares the deep revelations of soul mates. This art is made with deep purpose and meaning. It is a prayer, and an offering of spirit. " READ FULL ARTICLE |
